●How long have you been sitting at your computer?

The human body is only capable of sustaining a seated posture for 30 minutes at a time before it negatively affects your back health.

How long have you been sitting down?

I have been sitting at my computer since 1992, with two days off/week, 6 hours daily,
sometimes continuously for two hours, sometimes with no back support. So what should I do
for my back pain?

Dear Abdulrahman Ponnan,

I, much like you, spend most of my day seated in front of a computer. Of course it's not good for
my back, but I don't really have a choice. Anyway, there are one or two things you can do to
reduce lumbar stress caused by long sessions sitting at your desk.

A lot of people claim that it's healthiest to get up every 30 minutes and either briefly stretch or,
even better, take a brisk stroll to the water bubbler. I personally find it difficult to get away
from my desk twice an hour, even on the slowest of work days.

So then, what to do? I personally wear the back support belt BackAlleve Standard while
at work. That's a little over eight hours every day.

I'd say the biggest difference between when I have it on and when I don't is my posture.
BackAlleve keeps me sitting up straight when I'd usually start slouching. And when I take it off at
the end of the day, my back feels light and refreshed... a big difference from the dead-weight
fatigue I used to feel after every day at work.

Let me know if this information has been helpful! Thanks!
